The details that make a product feel finished

A lot of today’s work sat at the boundary between something working and feeling right. In DOM Studio Steve worked on vertical video playback, swipe actions, textarea shortcuts, and microphone and camera controls. We also reshaped the theme editor around a central preview and an inspector, and expanded the AI component documentation.

Scout had a similar run of practical improvements: clearer keyword metrics, research loading states, article previews and more consistent sidebar pages. Missing measurements need to remain recognisably unknown, and a loading indicator needs to describe work that is actually happening.

There were confirmed releases as well as local changes. The DOM Studio homepage performance update was deployed and checked live, and a Scout release passed its deployment and public health checks. Those release checks apply to those builds; later changes still have their own path to production.
