Shared foundations and some sharper writing

Steve worked on the shared application foundations behind db3 and Scout: consolidating duplicated AI helpers and contracts, tightening package checks, and keeping product-specific context in Scout. The relevant tests and package checks passed locally; that work had not been published or deployed at the time.

Steve also spent time on this site’s mantras, particularly advice and how teams discuss their work. Paid advice still needs judgment, and an honest discussion about a process should not turn into a judgment about someone’s character. The writing needed to stay personal and direct.

There were smaller product and presentation jobs too, including Scout’s welcome flow and homepage transitions, and another pass on the book cover. A mix of foundations and the details people actually encounter.
